Which areas do you cover?

We are based in Melksham, Wiltshire, but our plumbing and heating engineers are very much mobile, willing to travel to clients within around 25 miles radius of our base. We work in places like Chippenham, Swindon, Corsham, Westbury, Trowbridge and the city of Bath.

Yes, we install, repair and service any make, model or type of boiler. We’re accredited by Worcester Bosch, Viessmann and Vaillant, but our Gas Safe Registered engineers are competent to work on other makes of boiler too.

Yes, we recommend that powerflushing – using a powerful jet to flush out sludge and air that may be trapped in the system – is carried out at least every five years to keep your central heating healthy, and prolong the lifespan of your boiler.

Yes, we are able to help with all aspects of installing a bathroom, including all the required plumbing work.

No, not for homeowners – though gas safety checks and servicing is mandatory for landlords’ rental properties. However many boiler warranties and home insurance providers require an annual boiler service to be carried out. It’s certainly wise not to skip a boiler service – it can save you in the long run on boiler repairs, save on gas bills by keeping the boiler running efficiently, and keep you safe from possible gas leaks and unexpected boiler breakdown.

The average boiler should last around 15 years if it is well maintained. You’ll know when it is time for a new one if your boiler starts needing regular repairs, makes strange noises, starts leaking, has a fluctuating water temperature and your fuel bill increases. If in doubt, get it checked out.

Unvented cylinders are more modern, and fairly standard in new builds. They store hot water drawn directly from the mains and supply it through your taps on request. An old-fashioned vented cylinder is usually made from copper and requires a big water tank in the loft from which water is dispensed by gravity, meaning water pressure may be poor.

We should be able to fit it and have it up and running in around two days.

Ideally, we should all be going for renewable heating solutions wherever possible. It’s not always simple to switch from a boiler to a heat pump, however. Your property needs to be assessed by our experts to determine if retrofitting an air source heat pump is possible.

No, new gas boilers are still very much in demand and viable. The UK Government has pledged to ban them from being installed in new builds from 2035, but they will be used in existing properties for many more years beyond that. The good news is that gas boiler technology is advancing all the time, and every new generation that hits the market is more energy efficient than the one before, with ever decreasing amounts of carbon emissions.
